Amy Mertz Brown, Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) for the Firm, was a panelist at two sessions at the Receivables Management Association International (RMAI) 2022 annual conference in February 2022. The first session was the “CCO Forum,” at which CCOs from debt buyers and the entities that provide services to them, discussed the key compliance topics and initiatives on which the accounts receivable industry should focus in the coming year. The second session, “Penny-Wise, Pound-Foolish: The Economics of Ligation,” was a conversation between in-house and external counsel on the defensive litigation and compliance issues facing debt buyers and their servicers, recognizing that effective compliance management programs and litigation strategy is key to a good return on investment in legal services.
